As of May 2007 new government legislation will require Call Centres to check outbound campaign lists against a registry of telephone numbers which may not be called.

The Do Not Call Registry legislation also places the 'evidential burden' of responsibility on the Call Center. The legislation effective assumes that a Call Centre is guilty unless it can prove otherwise.

Asterisk IT has developed a complete solution for Call Centres which is designed to assist call centres in maintaining the required evidence, as well as an effective means of washing lists and blocking non-compliant calls.

Asterisk IT's DNC Management System has been designed to minimize the impact on your business operations whether you are operating from a paper based system or the most advanced CRM. The DNC Management System can operate in either batch or real-time mode. In batch mode lists are pre-loaded and washed. Batch mode suits organization operating for electronic lists and is the preferred method of operating the DNC Management System. Real-time mode is for organizations operating from purely paper based lists. With real-time mode each number is washed against the DNC registry as it is dialled by the call centre agent. In both cases a complete audit trail is kept of every call made and each audit record is linked back to the washing event to provide a complete audit trail.

Extend your existing PBX

The DNC Management System can be deployed inline with your existing PBX. The DNC Management System is deployed between your existing PBX and the local telecom network. As all calls pass through the DNC Management System it is able to automatically block calls to numbers on the DNC Registry. An inline DNC Management System is idea for organizations which have a significant investment in existing PBX equipment.

Standalone Solution

The DNC Mangement System is based on the Asterisk PBX and as such can be deployed as a stand alone PBX. The Standalone solution is idea for organizations who are looking to upgrade their telephony equipment as part of the preparation for Do Not Call Registry.

Operation

The DNC Management System screens every out going call against preloaded and washed call lists in real time and blocks calls which are not on a valid washed list. This provides the organization with an automated do not call solution.

The DNC Mangement System offers the following features:

  • Remapping of extension numbers (or ranges thereof) to a specific Caller ID.

  • Uploading of lists for submission to ACMA DNC register for washing

  • Storage of lists for 30 days

  • Assistance in complying with Section 11 (6) of Do Not Call Register Act 2006 – 'evidential burden'

    • Auditing of all numbers called, when and by whom

    • Archiving of list older than 30 days

    • Auditing of list submissions and receipt of files

    • Attempts to call unwashed numbers will be audited and the caller will be informed via a voice message why the call was declined.

  • All dialled numbers from a defined set of extensions will be checked against submitted lists to ensure number has been washed.
